Bernie Sanders has been nominated for a Grammy award — and incredibly, he's squaring off against Bruce Springsteen.
The Vermont senator and the veteran rocker were both nominated on Tuesday for "Best Spoken Word Album." Bernie is in the running for his book, "Our Revolution: A Future to Believe In," and The Boss for his memoir, "Born to Run."
Either could win, but both could lose too, because the two nominees have some stiff competition.
Also up for the award are the late "Star Wars" star Carrie Fisher for her reading of "The Princess Diarist," scientist Neil deGrasse Tyson for "Astrophysics for People in a Hurry," and songwriter Shelly Peiken for "Confessions of a Serial Songwriter."
While Springsteen has sold more than 120 million records worldwide and has earned 20 Grammy Awards, Bernie isn't a novice in the music business, according to Seven Days, an alternative weekly newspaper in Vermont.
In 1987, he collaborated on an album called "We Shall Overcome," under the name of "Bernie Sanders & 30 Vermont Artists." The group belted out such classic folks songs as "Where Have All the Flowers Gone" and "This Land is Your Land."
