Media Takes Satire on Romney ‘Nickname’ Seriously

By    |   Wednesday, 26 September 2012 04:12 PM EDT

Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan’s nickname for Mitt Romney is not “The Stench” – as was suggested in a Wednesday satire published by Politico.

When Roger Simon wrote that Ryan's new nickname for Romney was "The Stench," many news outlets — from MSNBC to Mediaite — took it seriously, BuzzFeed reports.

”Some people always don't get something, but I figured describing PowerPoint as having been invented to euthanize cattle would make the satire clear,” Simon told BuzzFeed. “I guess people hate PowerPoint more than I thought."
