Southern Baptist pastor and radio and TV preacher Robert Jeffress on Tuesday mourned England's terror bombing victims — and praised President Donald Trump for "making it clear" that "evil men" have fewer places to hide.
In a statement, Jeffress — who reportedly preached at a private service for Trump before his inauguration — decried the horrific suicide bombing that killed at least 22 in Manchester, England. ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack.
"Our hearts break for the children and others who were needlessly — and shamelessly — killed in Manchester last night by Islamic terrorists," he said. "We are living in a time of global darkness and trial, a time when evil seems to run loose and unchecked in too many parts of this world."
He went on to say: "We also have a temporal hope as God has blessed our world with a president of the United States who is not ashamed of American power, and whose symbolic actions and poignant statements in Saudi Arabia and Israel this week have made it clear that evil men now have fewer corners of our world within which they can hide."
