Most likely voters disagree with President Donald Trump holding large campaign rallies during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a new survey.
Results from the USA Today/Suffolk University poll:
- Nearly 6 in 10 Americans don't agree with Trump continuing to hold large rallies.
- 64% applaud Democrat Joe Biden's decision to hold small gatherings where attendees sit in socially distanced circles.
- 95% of Democrats disapprove of Trump's large rallies, while 73% of Republicans support them.
- 85% of Black voters, 75% of Hispanic voters, and 51% of white voters disapprove of the large rallies.
Trump contracted COVID-19 earlier this month and was hospitalized for several days as doctors treated him. He recovered days later, was deemed free of the virus, and has since held more than two dozen rallies, according to USA Today's tally.
Trump is planning to hold several more events in the coming days ahead of the Nov. 3 election.
The poll was conducted from Oct. 23-27 among 1,000 likely voters. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.
