President Donald Trump is hitting the campaign trail this Saturday, holding a rally in Florida — the first since he concluded his thank-you tour of key states before his inauguration.
"Join me in Florida this Saturday at 5 p.m. for a rally at the Orlando-Melbourne International Airport!" Trump tweeted, along with a link for supporters to RSVP. The invite carried the logo from his presidential campaign.
Trump himself had floated the idea of hosting campaign-style rallies even as president, Politico noted.
The rally comes as the young administration has dealt with intelligence leaks that led to the resignation of Trump's national security adviser, Mike Flynn, and protests over some of his Cabinet nominees.
The rally will follow the president's trip to Charleston, S.C., on Friday, where he is expected to attend the unveiling of a new Boeing plane: the 787-10 Dreamliner, Politico reported.
"This [South Carolina] visit will give the president an opportunity to celebrate a huge milestone for thousands of workers at Boeing, America's No. 1 exporter in the millions of American workers involved in aerospace," White House press secretary Sean Spicer said, per Politico.
"This trip has been months in the making, and we're thrilled to celebrating the rollout of this amazing plane."
