Planned Parenthood is staging 100 rallies and events during recess week in an attempt to capitalize on momentum from recent protests at GOP lawmakers' town hall meetings, The Hill reports.
As lawmakers head home on Saturday, the women's health organization is gearing up across the nation, according to the website.
The planned events include a rally outside Alaska's statehouse and another in Milwaukee, as organizers push back at efforts to defund the organization.
Congressional Republications want to block Planned Parenthood from receiving federal money as part of an Obamacare repeal. And House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wisc., said defunding Planned Parenthood will be part of the Obamacare repeal.
The website reports protestors have been flooding town hall meetings run by Republican lawmakers in an effort to fight for the health care law.
And the organization noted on its action website: "anti-women's health lawmakers are getting overwhelmed by Planned Parenthood supporters at town halls in Utah, Tennessee and elsewhere. This overwhelming support for Planned Parenthood is just a preview of what we'll see this weekend and when members of Congress are home for recess."
