Olbermann Suspends 'Worst Persons,' Says He'll Apologize to Cupp, Malkin

The controversy surrounding Rush Limbaugh and his comments about Sandra Fluke has prompted Keith Olbermann to suspend his “Worst Persons in The World” segment — and to say he will apologize to conservative commentators S.E. Cupp and Michelle Malkin.

Conservatives, and some liberals, have attacked the campaign against Limbaugh, which has resulted in at least 28 sponsors pulling ads for his show, saying left-leaning commentators have made similarly nasty comments about women with no consequences.

Olbermann was among the liberal commentators mentioned by Kristen Powers, a Democrat who works for Fox News, who wrote in the Daily Beast: "If Limbaugh's actions demand a boycott — and they do — then what about the army of swine on the left?"

Olbermann, in fact, was a prime target of Powers, who gave as examples his controversial comments about Hillary Clinton, as well as conservative commentators Cupp and Malkin, according to The Huffington Post.

Olbermann is chief news officer of the Current TV network and host of "Countdown With Keith Olbermann." Cupp is a Newsmax contributor.

Although he agreed that the comments about Cupp and Malkin were not nice, he maintained that they were not sexist. He told the Post that he would "apologize to them both," then announced that "Worst Persons" would be benched.

"I'm going to try to raise my standard about not using gratuitously abusive remarks about women, and men," he said. "In fact, I'm going to suspend the Worst Persons segment again, possibly permanently."
