Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt has COVID-19.
The Republican governor made the announcement Wednesday during a Zoom press conference, according to local ABC affiliate Koco News 5.
His positive test results came in on Tuesday afternoon. He told the news outlet he feels fine, but has a fever and body aches.
He said he is isolated at home, away from his family. He said his wife and kids have tested negative. He announced he will work with contact tracers to connect with anyone who he may have infected.
He said he will keep working while he is quarantined.
According to Oklahoma Watch, Stitt led a Commissioners of the Land Office meeting Tuesday morning and wore a mask on his neck.
Stitt attended President Donald Trump’s rally in Tulsa last month. He was pictured at the event not wearing a face mask, The Hill reports.
Oklahoma is currently experiencing a surge in virus cases. On Tuesday, the state reported a record-high daily increase of 993 new coronavirus cases.
