By    |   Monday, 11 March 2013 02:49 PM EDT

President Barack Obama’s favorability rating in New York State has plummeted, according to a new Siena College poll.

In the survey, 56 percent of the state’s voters viewed Obama favorably compared to 41 percent who viewed him unfavorably.

Just a month earlier, 66 percent had a favorable view of Obama, compared to 32 percent who had a negative view.

New York voters also are growing more concerned about the country’s direction. In last week’s poll, 60 percent said it’s headed in the wrong direction, while 32 percent said it’s headed in the right direction.

Two months ago, 49 percent believed the state was off-course, compared to 46 percent who thought otherwise.

When it comes to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, 64 percent view him favorably in the latest poll, compared to 30 percent who view him unfavorably. A month ago, 67 percent had a favorable view of him and 29 percent had an unfavorable view.
