President Barack Obama has announced plans to bring back U.S. troops from Afghanistan, starting this year. But House Minority

Leader Nancy Pelosi says thta doesn’t go far enough, fast enough. She suggests Congress could work to hasten the process,
The Hill reports.
Obama plans to withdraw 10,000 of the 100,000 U.S. troops from Afghanistan by year's end, and 23,000 more by September 2012. The U.S. would transfer all control to the Afghan government in 2014.
“Many of us would like to see this go faster than the path that was laid out,” Pelosi said at a Capitol Hill press conference. “With the proper progress — whether it’s on the civilian side, on the governance side, on the anti-corruption side — it may well be that we can have a quicker drawdown.”
