First lady Melania Trump will meet with tech giants including Amazon, Facebook, Google, Twitter, and Snap to talk about combatting online harassment and to promote Internet safety, The Washington Post reported.
The March 20 meeting at the White House would be the first major policy push for the first lady's campaign promise to fight against cyberbullying, the Post noted.
The first lady is expected to ask policy executives how they have tried to handle the rise of online trolls and the spread of malicious content, for example, the Post reported.
No policy proposals are expected to be unveiled at the meeting, the Post reported.
Her team has opted to focus on the need for kindness online, the Post reported.
The first lady will also reportedly meet with Microsoft and the Internet Association — a lobbying group for the tech industry — and several consumer groups.
