"Don't Believe the Liberal Media," the watchdog Media Research Center proclaims on two new billboards it has erected in Time Square in New York City.
The billboards, are part of the center's "Tell the Truth! 2012" project to inject "liberal media bias" in the national debate this election year, reported
CNSNews.com.
More than 1.3 million people are expected to see the billboards during the next four weeks. The Alexandria, Va.-based Media Research Center, which is the parent company of CNSNews.com, spent $180,000 on the 1,684-square-foot billboards.
The center committed to the largest expenditure in its history because of the importance of this year's election, center founder and President Brent Bozell said.
"There is no better location for this billboard than the liberal media's own backyard," Bozell said. "We promised the 2012 campaign would be the most expansive, most exhaustive, and consequently the most expensive operation in our 25 years. We will keep that promise because this is the most important election in our lifetime and the American people are sick and tired of the left-wing media deciding who will govern our country."
The center’s $5 million election-year campaign is intended to raise awareness of liberal bias in the news media. Billboards with the same message are to be erected in Tampa, Fla., and Charlotte, N.C., in time for the Republican and Democratic National conventions this year.
