It's a girl — and No. 3 for House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers.
Brynn Catherine Rodgers was born on Sunday at 6:19 a.m. in Washington, D.C., to the congresswoman and her husband, Brian Rodgers. She weighed 7 pounds and 6 ounces.
"Nothing compares to the miracle of bringing a new life into the world," McMorris Rodgers said in an Instagram post. "She's beautiful and seems to be taking it all in stride. Our hearts are full."
The birth is McMorris Rodgers third while serving in Congress — and the Washington state legislator is the first to bring three children into the world while serving in the lower chamber.
Her first child, a son, Cole, was born in April 2007. Daughter, Grace, was born in December 2010.
McMorris Rodgers plans to continue serving in Congress and to seek re-election next fall, a spokesman said.
