The lead singer of the band that was present during the Paris terror attack in 2015 criticized the gun control marches on social media over the weekend.

According to several news reports, Eagles of Death Metal singer Jesse Hughes posted captions to multiple Instagram photos that were critical of lobbying for gun control. The posts were later removed.

NBC News reported one of the photos was an altered image of a female survivor of February's Stoneman Douglas High School shooting. The photo showed her tearing apart a copy of the Constitution, though the original photo is of her tearing up a target. Hughes called her "the awful face of treason" and a "survivor of nothing."

In another caption, Hughes wrote, "As the survivor of a mass shooting, I can tell you from firsthand experience that all of you protesting and taking days off from school insult the memory of those who were killed."

Eagles of Death Metal was playing at the Bataclan theatre in Paris on the night of Nov. 13, 2015 when radical Islamic terrorists stormed the building and attacked the crowd with rifles, hand grenades, and suicide vests. One hundred thirty people were killed in the attack.

Over the weekend, gun control marches occurred in Washington, D.C. and other cities across the nation.
