Freedom Watch founder Larry Klayman told Newsmax TV on Wednesday that Congress should confirm U.S. Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh, a reversal from his earlier position.
When asked in an interview on "America Talks Live," what he likes about Kavanaugh, Klayman said, "first of all, I like his temperament . . ." and added he hopes the judge "will follow the law and not cook the decisions."

Klayman added Kavanaugh acted as a "judicial activist" in his ruling on surveillance, and the judge would not answer when asked if he knew about former President George W. Bush's "warrantless wiretaps right after 9/11, which clearly were unconstitutional, and he wouldn't answer the question . . . obviously knew about that, he was in on it. So, he's not a perfect person. I think he will make a good Supreme Court justice as a whole, but I'm very concerned, and I continue to be concerned" about his views on surveillance.
The former Justice Department prosecutor later admitted his views on this one issue have "influenced" his opinion of Kavanaugh.
"That floored me, when I saw that opinion . . . because he didn't have to write it."
Klayman later said "on the whole," he supports Kavanaugh's nomination now, "because we're far down the line. He needs to be confirmed," because Democrats will derail any of Trump's nominations if hearings continue past October.
He concluded, "So, the lesser of evils . . . I want to see Kavanaugh confirmed at this point."
