Most of Anthony Weiner's neighbors in his Union Square building in New York blame him for Hillary Clinton's loss in the presidential election, Page Six reported Monday.
"Nobody speaks to him," one source told the New York Post. "He is truly ostracized. People won't even get on the elevator with him."
Weiner, the former U.S. representative who in May pled guilty to criminal charges in connection with his online communications with a 15-year-old girl, has been living alone in his apartment since estranged wife Huma Abedin left him.
FBI agents seized Weiner's laptop during their investigation of his sexting case and discovered a new cache of emails Clinton had sent to Abedin, one of Clinton's top aides from her time in the State Department and on the campaign trail.
As a result, the FBI reopened its investigation into Clinton's handling of State Department business on a private email server. The inquiry was brief as Comey announced the new emails contained nothing to change his view Clinton should not be charged with a crime, but Clinton partly blamed her loss to President Donald Trump on Comey's October announcement.
Most of Weiner's neighbors, according to Page Six, were Clinton supporters. Weiner will be sentenced in federal district court in Manhattan on Sept. 8. and is looking at 21 to 27 months in prison for sharing obscene photos with a minor.
