King Abdullah II of Jordan called Joe Biden on Monday to discuss the future of U.S.-Jordan relations, the Washington Examiner reported.

The Royal Hashemite Court tweeted:

"His Majesty King Abdullah II, in a phone call with #US President-elect Joe Biden, expresses keenness to continue bolstering the strategic partnership between the two countries to expand cooperation, in service of mutual interests and regional security and stability."

Several world leaders have contacted Biden to congratulate him on potentially becoming the next president. According to Axios, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el Sisi and Lebanese President Michel Aoun were some of the first Arab leaders to reach out to Biden about the election.

The winner of the election has not been officially declared and President Donald Trump is contesting the election results in several states. Newsmax has not called a winner for the 2020 election, awaiting several states' certifications and the Trump campaign's legal challenges mounted in key battleground states.
