Joe Biden’s wife, Jill Biden, said she would “love” to have Michelle Obama as his running mate, but doubted whether the former first lady would ever agree to it.
She made her comments on during a Friday interview on CNN’s “New Day.”
“There’s so many qualified strong women," Jill Biden said, adding the choice would be made by her husband.
"I’d love it if Michelle would agree to it,” she said. “But you know, I think she's had it with politics. I don't know. She's so good at everything she does. That would be wonderful."
She noted Joe Biden would look for someone who shares his values. “I think that’s really important,” she said.
"I think that Joe has always said that he and Barack (Obama) shared the same values and that's what was so important to him and that's why they got along so well. And I think that's what he'll look for, a woman who will share the same values as he does."
Joe Biden said in February he would ask Michelle Obama to be his running mate “in a heartbeat” if he thought she’d agree to the job.
