Commentator Manjarres: Immigrant Children May Be Smuggling Drugs

By    |   Monday, 16 June 2014 01:40 PM EDT

As more and more illegal immigrant children make their way across the U.S.-Mexico border, political commentator Javier Manjarres says that he would be surprised if some weren't bringing drugs with them.

"I find it very hard to believe that tens of thousands of these illegal immigrant children migrating over, none of them have been tapped by the drug cartels to bring over, as mules, to bring over drugs in any which way," Manjarres told J.D. Hayworth and John Bachman on "America's Forum" on Newsmax TV Monday.

"I don't see how that can't happen, being that it's reported that [the drug cartels] use any which way vehicle to bring drugs into the United States," he said. "I don't see how this isn't happening, how it's not being reported."

Irene Garcia of Judicial Watch, a former reporter for the Los Angeles Times, told Newsmax, "There's a lot more to the story than what the mainstream media is reporting."

Much of what is going on is being kept secret by the administration, Garcia said.

Some of these illegal immigrant children are being sent to Fort Bliss in Texas, although "it has not publicly been identified as a facility being used."

"They're busing people in at night and unloading the buses in a hanger . . . at Fort Bliss in Texas," she said.

Manjarres said the problem is really the "fault" of President Barack Obama.

"He has failed to enforce border security, and we saw this happening," Manjarres said. "Sen. Marco Rubio foretold this years ago — that if we don't fix this immigration policy, if Barack Obama does not enforce existing laws on the books, that we are going to have this type of incentivized immigrant coming over and looking for a gravy train.

"Obama is the ringleader; he's driving the caboose here."
