Issa Releases Another Damning GSA Video

By    |   Monday, 09 April 2012 03:00 PM EDT

House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., released another video from the General Services Administration's (GSA’s) glitzy 2010 conference in Las Vegas Monday that paints the agency in a poor light, reports The Hill.

This video shows GSA workers singing about green initiatives in their offices. And they joke that their initiatives were meant to garner positive press for President Barack Obama. The previous video shows employees making light of the more than $800,000 that was spent on the conference. The scandal has led to the resignation of top GSA officials, including administrator Martha Johnson.

“It takes a lot of work to spend $3,000 a person, and at a time when unemployment was nearly 10 percent, Americans were suffering, and GSA was enjoying the good times and doing so with high-ranking political employees,” Issa said. “This administration knew about this 11 months ago, and they didn’t act until the press got wind of it. This is typically what has been happening in this administration. They are only transparent when they are discovered.”

Republicans are questioning how taxpayer money is being spent at the GSA, which is supposed to help manage and support other government agencies.
