Tea party activists have gathered near Cincinnati for a forum about the Internal Revenue Service after disclosures that agency employees singled out conservative groups for extra scrutiny.
A Cincinnati tea party leader, George Brunemann (BROO'-'nuh-man), opened the event after a dinner with scores of activists by calling Cincinnati "ground zero" for the alleged misuse by the IRS. The session Wednesday evening was being carried live on a website.
Republican U.S. Sen. Rob Portman and Republican Reps. Steve Chabot and Brad Wenstrup also were expected to speak, along with members of national conservative groups.
