Informed Immigrant, an immigrant-rights group, released a training video on Monday for illegal immigrants.

The video details their constitutional rights, what to do if they have encounters with law officers, what to say and what not to say about their families, and other guidance in an effort to prevent as many deportations as possible.

The activists are part of a growing network of such organizations aimed at helping illegal immigrants avoid the consequences of changes in U.S. immigration policy under President Donald Trump, The Washington Times reported on Monday.

"If they come here, to the house, don't open the doors. 'No abran las puertas,'" the advocates say in a seven-minute training video.

Stoy continues below video.

That particular video is aimed at children, encouraging them to persuade their families to develop a plan should they encounter U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials. Officers are already reporting a drop in the number of people who are willing to open their doors to them as Trump's plan to cut illegal immigration begins to take hold.

The video warns not to drive without a license, not to flee authorities, and not to carry false papers, which the video explains "could be used against you in the deportation process." Parents are coached not to talk about their children if they are in the country illegally, but if their children are U.S. citizens they are instructed to inform officers of that in in hopes it could sway them.

Some colleges are suggesting that illegal immigrant students who are participating in former President Barack Obama's 2012 deportation amnesty program (DACA) go abroad on school-sponsored trips. By doing so, they could possibly qualify later for a program that could place them on a path to citizenship. Defense lawyers for illegal immigrants are sharing strategies with other attorneys about which charges to avoid in plea agreements that could more likely result in deportation.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions spoke last week about one California judge who lowered charges in a domestic violence case so that the illegal immigrant could stay in the country.

"Think about the message that sends. If you are an alien and you commit domestic violence, prosecutors will charge you with a lesser crime so you can stay in the country," Sessions said. "Enough is enough."
