Newsmax columnist James Hirsen said Monday that Hollywood and President Barack Obama are about to develop what amounts to a propaganda movement in the industry designed to promote Obamacare.
"Hollywood seems to be tied in. They have a symbiotic relationship with the White House," Hirsen said on "Fox & Friends," noting an upcoming event in New York bringing White House officials and Hollywood elites together to talk about how the healthcare reform program should be portrayed in film and television.

The focus of the event — a panel discussion next month called "The Affordable Care Act: Comedy, Drama and Reality" — is not targeted at "informing" America about Obamacare, but at painting the problem-plagued program in a favorable light. It will be about "selling" Obamacare, he insisted, rather than a "discussion of the problems of the Affordable Care Act."
"To have elements of Obamacare embedded into Hollywood product, television shows, sitcoms, reality shows, movies . . . and, of course, they would be embedded in a way that's most favorable to the government," Hirsen claimed.
"We have to use the right term here. They're really looking at propaganda, the purest form of propaganda, using storytelling," he added. "When this is embedded in the story, it's more effective, because people have their defenses down."
