Hero Cop Honored by Obama Charged With Rape
A former "top cop" who was honored by the White House four years ago for chasing down a perpetrator after being shot in the face has since been charged with rape, reports CNN.

Former Philadelphia police officer Richard DeCoatsworth received the "Top Cops" award from the National Association of Police Organizations for his bravery during the 2007 incident. The White House subsequently gave him the honor of sitting next to first lady Michelle Obama for the president's 2009 State of the Union address.

According to CNN, DeCoatsworth allegedly lured two women from a party on May 16, pulled a gun, and then forced them "to engage in the use of narcotics and to engage in sexual acts."

Two years ago, DeCoatsworth retired after being accused of using excessive force for shooting a motorcyclist in the leg. He also was taken to court last year by a neighbor who claimed DeCoatsworth threatened him.

Along with rape, the former hero faces accusations of "sex assault, terrorist threats, and other related charges," CNN reported. He is being held on $60 million bail.
