Book publisher HarperCollins announced that it would stop selling a book by Monica Crowley after a CNN KFile investigation led to finding more than 50 instances of plagiarism, according to CNN Money.

"The book, which has reached the end of its natural sales cycle, will no longer be offered for purchase until such time as the author has the opportunity to source and revise the material," HarperCollins said in a statement.

On Saturday, CNN's KFile reported Crowley copied news articles, columnists, think tanks, and Wikipedia articles in her 2012 book, "What the (Bleep) Just Happened?"

Crowley is a conservative author, radio host, and columnist who President-elect Donald Trump selected as senior director of strategic communications for the National Security Council, CNN reports.

A Trump transition team spokesperson responded to the allegations, saying, "Any attempt to discredit Monica is nothing more than a politically motivated attack that seeks to distract from the real issues facing this country."

Politico reported on Monday that Crowley also plagiarized parts of her Ph.D. dissertation.

Crowley's position does not require confirmation by the Senate, Politico reported.
