The January shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., has put an added burden on her staff as it works to meet her goal of having the best constituent services in Congress. Her office received about four times more constituent requests than the average for other offices in the 111th Congress, Democratic House leaders estimated, according to
The Hill.

And those requests have only increased with the media coverage of the assassination attempt on her and her recovery after being shot in the head.
“When she was first elected, Gabby told everyone on her team that she wanted to have the best constituent services operation in Congress, and that is still our goal,” C.J. Karamargin, Giffords' spokesman told The Hill.
Other members of Congress and their offices are helping her staff by addressing the district’s concerns and raising money for her campaign committee.
