Police: Man Shot Kids, Self after Fight with Wife

Friday, 17 October 2014 09:01 AM EDT

Officials say a man shot his three children and then himself after an argument with his wife at their home in central Florida.

Volusia County Sheriff's spokesman Gary Davidson says in a news release that the woman fled to a neighbor's home after she said she was threatened with a gun early Friday. The sheriff's office received a call at 5:11 a.m.

Davidson says the children — two girls and a boy — are between the ages of 9 and 14.

The shooting occurred in a home in the Spruce Creek Farms subdivision of Port Orange, which is about five miles south of Daytona Beach.

Davidson says several of the injured were taken to hospitals, but he did not provide their names or conditions.
