Billionaire and Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz has donated more than $20 million into a Democratic super PAC that is spending big money on anti-Trump TV ads ahead of Election Day, reports Recode.
Twilio founder Jeff Lawson and his wife have donated $6 million to Future Forward, which filed paperwork Tuesday disclosing that it raised $66 million between Sept. 1 and Oct. 15.
According to media tracking firm Advertising Analytics, the super PAC contracted for $106 million in TV ads between Sept. 29 and Nov. 3, making it the largest booster for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden outside the Democrats’ campaign.
The plan is to blitz the airwaves with anti-Trump television ads – only a dozen of them have aired so far according to Recode.
Moskovitz, who is no longer with Facebook, has reportedly extensively researched how to have the greatest impact on voters. He believes in getting a strong message out right before people vote.
The report highlights Silicon Valley’s support for Democrats as the tech world continues to fight off claims it harbors anti-conservative bias on online platforms – Facebook and Twitter last week faced criticism for censoring a New York Post story on Hunter Biden’s alleged emails.
Employees from Apple, Amazon, Facebook and others have collectively donated $4.8 million to Biden since 2019.
