Donald Trump Jr. defended his father in a tweet on Tuesday after rapper Eminem said he is prepared if the president attacks him for his new album that is highly critical of him.
Trump Jr's tweet followed an interview in Vulture in which Eminem said "I want our country to be great too, I want it to be the best it can be, but it's not going to be that with [President Donald Trump] in charge."
The rapper also admitted that he wanted the president to respond, because he has many ideas of what to say back to him if he does.
"I've got lines ready if he says something about me," Eminem said. "I get almost flustered thinking about him — that's how angry he makes me. The people that support him are the people he cares about the least and they don't even realize it."
Eminen previously harshly criticized the president in October in a freestyle rap that debuted during the 2017 BET Awards, but Trump did not reply to it, according to the Washington Examiner.
Asked by Vulture if he was worried about losing fans due to the political tone in his new album, Eminem said "I'm not worried about whether people like what I say politically. I just want to know they're listening. As long as I have people's ears, I have to say what I think is right."
