McConnell: I'll Repeal Obamacare

Friday, 15 March 2013 10:52 AM EDT

Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky is vowing to repeal President Barack Obama's sweeping health care law.

McConnell spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference next to a tower of 20,000 pages of health care rules and regulations. He calls it a "monument to liberalism" and says Republicans will not back down from the fight.

McConnell faces re-election next year. He says Republicans need to rebound from election losses last year and "punch back." He says Democrats haven't had a new idea, "since the days of the Studebaker."

He compares the possibility of Democrats nominating Hillary Rodham Clinton or Joe Biden for president in 2016 to, a "rerun of 'The Golden Girls.'"
