Joe Piscopo Denies Fundraising for Jersey Governor Run

Joe Piscopo says he is not amassing a war chest to run for governor of New Jersey — despite a report he is doing just that.

The former "Saturday Night Live" comic shot down a report by New York Post gossip columnist Cindy Adams that he will be seeking to fill the seat of Chris Christie whose term ends on Jan. 16, 2018.

And in a phone interview with NJ Advance Media, Piscopo insisted: "I'm not raising money, and I haven't officially declared," he said.

He added that he was "just doing due diligence" and exploring a run for governor.
