The death of prolific actor
Christopher Lee, known to older fans for his horror classics and to the younger generation for his "Lord of the Rings" and "Star Wars" characters, unleashed a Twitter tribute flood Thursday, with fans from Britain and America mourning his passing and celebrating his legend.
Lee appeared in more than 250 movies, but was first known as the vampire Count Dracula in a slew of "Hammer Horror" movies — the gory, gothic thrillers churned out by the British studio in the 1950s and 1960s that became hugely popular.
Among the most retweeted remembrances came from "Star Wars" — some 4,200 times by Thursday afternoon.
The news website Source Fed, which also has a You Tube channel, thanked Lee "for everything."
