Mary Matalin: Cheney Book Will Ruffle Feathers

By    |   Thursday, 19 May 2011 02:01 PM EDT

This should be a hot read for interested conservatives. Dick Cheney, vice president under George W. Bush, has finished his memoir, and it will be available in book stores Aug. 30, Politico reports.

His former aide Mary Matalin says readers will be impressed with the 544-page work. It’s being published by Simon & Schuster’s Threshold Editions, where she’s editor in chief.

“As his vice presidency was novel, Dick Cheney’s memoir is unique, in its scope and depth and honesty, with the lagniappe of a one-of-a kind daughter/partner production, clear-eyed history, and forward analysis,” Matalin told Politico. “Oh yeah . . . pick your metaphor: sacred cows, ruffled feathers, broken eggs. In total, it’s an important reflection on where we are and how we got there, from inside the arena.”
