New Jersey Governor Chris Christie “got lucky” that Hurricane Sandy came as he relies on the storm as his economic growth plan, Senate President Stephen Sweeney said.
“We shouldn’t have to hope that a storm comes along” to help create jobs, Sweeney said at a press conference in Trenton, a day before the governor’s State of the State. The governor has no plan to create jobs, with the state’s unemployment rate at 9.6 percent, Sweeney said.
Sweeney, a West Deptford Democrat, quickly apologized for his “got lucky” remark.
