New York City Police Commissioner Bill Bratton says he has a five-point plan for improving his department, and unveiled the details Sunday on
"The Cats Roundtable" on AM 970 in New York.
"The plan is based on five initiatives," Bratton told host John Catsimatidis. "One dealing with trust – restoring trust where we’ve lost it. Improving it where we already have it. And trust also within the department."

The other areas involve dealing with terrorism, training, tackling crime, "something that’s the basic mission of the police," and technology.
"We're going to be spending hundreds of millions of dollars on every conceivable piece of technology for our officers," Bratton said. "It's probably the best year in the modern history of the NYPD."
There will be
1,297 added officers, and police will get new smart phones within a year with specialized apps that give officers "incredible capabilities in the field.”
