Germany is the best country in the world, according to a new report.
The inaugural
"Best Countries" ranking from U.S. News & World Report, the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and global brand consultants BAV Consulting determined the United States was No. 4, behind third-ranked Britain and No. 2 Canada.
Here's the top 10, according to the Best Countries ranking:

- Netherlands
- Denmark
The list was unveiled at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Wednesday,
according to a statement.
"Just as we have done with universities, hospitals and other institutions, our Best Countries portal will be a global homepage for stories and data to help citizens, business leaders and governments evaluate performance in a rapidly changing world," Mort Zuckerman, chairman and editor-in-chief of U.S. News, said in the statement.
According to U.S. News, the rankings analyzed some 60 nations, looking at factors that included sustainability, adventure, cultural influence, entrepreneurship and economic influence.
More than 16,200 business leaders, high fliers and other members of the public were surveyed to come up with the final rankings.
And though America came in fourth overall, it is the most powerful country, according to the report.
