A celebrity-backed bail organization closed down after being sued by a man who was shot by a suspect that the organization helped bail out.
According to TMZ, the organization, or Bail Project as it's known, boasts celebrity endorsements ranging from John Legend to Danny Glover and Richard Branson.
Last December, The Bail Project posted the $3,000 bond for Rashawn Gaston-Anderson. Six days after his release, Gaston-Anderson, who holds a long rap sheet, shot Las Vegas man Chengyan Wang.
Following Wang's lawsuit, according to 8NewsNow, The Bail Project ended its operations in Las Vegas in early December for what the organization called a "restructuring."
