Arrests Tied to GOP Convention

Two suspected protesters were arrested atop a downtown parking garage in St. Petersburg while playing with a BB gun, The Tampa Bay Times reports.

The pair is considered the first arrests tied to the Republican National Convention.

Police received a call reporting that people were playing with a BB gun atop the garage. Police found two men and a female teeanger there, along with anti-government t-shirts, a backpack with a machete and pocketknife and other items.

The two men were taken into custody and the girl was taken to a juvenile facility but was not charged.
