Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig's home in the San Fernando Valley, California, was reportedly burglarized during Wednesday's World Series Game 7, which the Dodgers lost to the Houston Astros.

The burglar, thought to be a homeless man, broke a window and grabbed some inexpensive costume jewelry before reportedly being scared off by the alarm system, according to TMZ.

By Thursday morning, the police said that they thought it was a random incident and that Puig did not appear to be targeted, TMZ reported. The items taken were only valued at about $150. The incident was caught on surveillance video.

Puig had bought the $2.6 million Encino-area home in October, CBS LA reported. Neighbors had to round up several dogs belonging to Puig that got loose during the robbery.

Puig's previous Sherman Oaks home was broken into in March, with thieves taking $500,000 of jewelry in that incident and later pawning it for $170,000, according to the New York Post.

Other celebrities have recently had their homes burglarized as well. A safe in Alanis Morissette's Brentwood mansion containing $2 million in jewelry and valuables was stolen in February, the LA Times reported.

Also in February, LA Lakers guard Nick Young had $500,000 in valuables stolen from his home.

Twitter users shared sympathy for Puig.
