We all want a car that won't let us down, but what we want and what we get sometimes are two different things. Some cars are known to be trustworthy, but others are notorious for being letdowns.

To determine which cars were most likely to be sent off for tune-ups and repairs, Reader's Digest consulted data released by Consumer Reports and then compiled a list ranking the most unreliable car models according to problem areas. Here we look at nine of those cars.

9. Cadillac CTS

Users have reported issues with the drive and climate system of this luxury model. They also complain that the entertainment and information systems for the sedan are difficult to navigate.

8. Alfa Romeo Giulia

The power equipment, engine, and in-car electronics are some of the issues that drivers of the Alfa Romeo Giulia have reported. The unreliable car model's seat comfort and controls did not score high on their lists either.

7. Kia Cadenza

Drivers are not impressed by the Kia Cadenza's emissions/fuel system as well as its engine cooling.

6. Cadillac Escalade

It may be flashy to own a Cadillac, but many drivers have found that the Escalade's seating is cramped and the steering is stiff. They have found additional issues with its in-car electronics, climate system, and transmission.

5. Cadillac CT6

The Escalade and CT6 have similar problems, according to test riders who found issues with the transmission and electronics.

4. Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD

The steering, suspension, drive systems, and fuel/emissions were just some of the problems drivers found with the Silverado 2500HD.

3. Tesla Model X

Drivers of the Model X found a wealth of problems with the vehicle. The most common complaint was the in-car electronics and body hardware. Users also reported leaks, squeaks, and other pesky issues.

2. Buick Enclave

Drivers found the SUV's gear selector difficult to use when parking. They also took issue with the power equipment and reported leaks and noises.

1. Jaguar F-Pace

Users found multiple issues with the F-Pace. Complaints extended to the vehicle's electronics, power equipment, drive system, and touch screen for the entertainment system — all factors that contributed toward the vehicle being listed as the most unreliable car model.
