One of the worst things for a new car owner is having to take the vehicle in for repairs just days after purchase.

With certain brands, this is a common issue in America, according to J.D. Power's recently released 2019 Initial Quality Study, which found that more car brands had worsened than improved in the last year.

The findings are from a survey that looked at the number of problems new car owners encountered within 90 days of purchasing their vehicles.

More than 76,000 people participated in the survey, which specifically looked at the issues of each brand per 100 vehicles. Based on this, J.D. Power was able to rate the worst new cars in America.

Topping that list is Jaguar, which score problems well above the industry average. As 24/7 Wall St. noted, the brand is known for its mechanical problems and it has not helped that it has changed ownership dozens of times. In the U.S., Jaguar sales have dropped by 15% from the year before and it continues to struggle under the ownership of Tata- the parent company of Land Rover, which earned second place as the worst new car in America according J.D. Power's survey. Rounding out the top three is Mitsubishi.

Here are the survey's 10 worst new cars in America:

10. MINI

9. Acura

8. Chrysler

7. Subaru

6. Volkswagen

5. Volvo

4.Alfa Romeo

3. Mitsubishi

2. Land Rover

1. Jaguar
