Donald Trump, who is considering a run for Republican presidential nomination, traded barbs on TV with U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner, a potential Democratic candidate for New York City mayor, the New York Post reported Wednesday.

trump, weiner, new, york, mayorTrump tussled with Weiner saying that, if the congressman won an election to be mayor of the Big Apple, people would flee the city.

Weiner started the brouhaha when the two appeared on CNN to discuss Libya after President Barack Obama’s address on Monday.

"I'm not president yet — although I think I have as much chance as Donald Trump does," Weiner said.

Show host Piers Morgan interjected with no evidence, saying to Trump: "He's polling better than you."

Trump responded: "If I polled like Anthony's polling, I would drop out immediately."

"You'll be dropping out soon enough, Donald. We both know it," was Weiner’s retort.

Trump shot back. "Frankly, I look at his polls in New York, running for mayor, he does very poorly. So I wish him a lot of luck," Trump said.

Morgan ended the heated exchange after Trump got in the last word: "A lot of people are leaving the city if you end up winning."
