Convicted drunk driver Tasha Schleicher is “one of the worst DUI offenders in the United States,” police said after her latest arrest on Monday in Riverside, Illinois, ABC affiliate KTRK-TV reported.
The 41-year-old woman from New Hope, Minnesota, was found by police parked at a gas station in a “highly intoxicated” state, The Star Tribune reported.

They later discovered that Schleicher had 11 prior arrests to her name, six of which were related to driving under the influence, and all of which were DUI-related, The Miami Herald reported. She had an extensive list of drunken driving convictions, as well as outstanding warrants in three states
Last year Schleicher was arrested after she swerved into a median barrier on Highway 52 near Rochester while driving drunk and then proceeded to breast-feed her babies at the scene until authorities arrived and charged her for child endangerment, felony drunken driving and failing to have a driver’s license.
In Monday night’s incident, Riverside police were alerted to reports of a woman slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle at the gas station, KTRK-TV said.
The woman turned out to be Schleicher, who is believed to have filled her car with kerosene instead of gasoline, and was sitting in her car with the engine running.
When asked to step out of the vehicle, police said, she was “in total disarray, not wearing shoes, and her clothes were literally falling off her,” per KTRK-TV.
Officers said she was highly intoxicated, with a strong scent of alcohol on her breath, while witnesses said Schleicher had been sitting in her vehicle drinking from a bottle of whisky, CBS News reported.
As police escorted her away, Schleicher said she could not find her 11 children, but witnesses said she was alone when she pulled up to the gas station. A sweep of the area concluded no children were nearby.
The repeat offender also allegedly provided police with fake personal information upon her arrest.
Now she is facing several more charges that include two counts of felony aggravated drunk driving and two additional counts of misdemeanor drunk driving as well as charges for no vehicle insurance, driving while her license was revoked (for DUI), and the transportation of open alcohol while driving, according to KTRK-TV.
