"So You Think You Can Dance" star Danny Tidwell has died at age 35. His brother, Travis Wall, confirmed the news Saturday in a post to Instagram but made no mention of the cause of death.

"My heart is broken. Yesterday I lost a brother. And we all lost a gift," Travis, who was a dance choreographer on the show, wrote. "I’m not ready. But I never think I will be. Because I can’t believe this is real. I can’t believe you’re gone."

Travis recalled how he wanted to be a dancer just like his brother when they were growing up.

"You were more than my brother. You were my inspiration. I idolized you growing up," he continued. "I wish I could jump in your arms again like we used to when we were kids and onstage dancing."

Tidwell began dancing as a child, initially focusing on jazz before switching over to ballet, according to IMDB. He attended the Kirov Academy of Ballet at 15 and in 2007 became the runner-up in season three of "So You Think You Can Dance," Fox News reported.

Tidwell made his Broadway debut in 2009 and went on to work for several elite companies including the American Ballet Theatre. During his formative years, Tidwell trained under his adoptive mother, Denise Wall.

"We will all remember the joy and passion you brought to everyone you came in contact with through out your journey. A journey cut to short. You are a legend. And I love you so much Danny," Travis added in his post to Instagram. "Rest In Peace my brother. I can’t believe I’m even typing this."

Debbie Allen, who was a judge on the show during Tidwell’s season, paid tribute to the dancer on Twitter.

"Danny Tidwell our beautiful dancing genius 'Prince amongst Paupers' you are in God’s Ensemble. We will always speak your name with love and respect. See you on the other side," she wrote.
