Nine people were shot at an Ohio after-hours club early Sunday, but suspects and motive for the shooting remains unknown.

The shooting happened about 3:30 a.m. at J&R Party Hall in North Columbus, according to WBNS-TV. Seven people were taken to Grant Medical Center and two others were taken to Ohio State University Medical Center.

Columbus Police told the television station that the conditions of the nine people shot varied from minor to life-threatening. Authorities said, though, the people involved in the shooting declined to say anything to them, the Columbus Dispatch reported.

"The only way we're going to solve these crimes is if people come forward with what they saw," Columbus police spokeswoman Denise Alex-Bouzounis told the newspaper.

"You want justice for the victims. You want justice for the community because they shouldn't have to live in fear that a shooter's out there. But people have to cooperate," she added.

Police told WCMH-TV that they are looking for multiple shooters who may have been involved, but believe the shooting was not terror-related.

According to the Dispatch, authorities identified the female victims are Sharda Hall, 25; Brooklyn Bradley, 20; Diamond Harris, 33; Corneicia M. Pruitt, 25; and Kaadijah Travis, 23. The males are Ja'Voughn Henderson, 22; Keante McGrew, 31; William Boswell, 27; and Jawaun McCrae, 20.

Birgitt Archer, who lives near the club, said there was a crowd of people there after the shooting, along with police and emergency personnel, the Dispatch reported.

"There were 15 to 20 people, screaming and yelling," Archer told the newspaper. "It was very tense. I was concerned for the officers' safety."

The Dispatch added that the shooting comes less than a month after two died and 15 were injured during a club shooting in Cincinnati on March 26. That incident was sparked by an argument inside the club that escalated into an incident with multiple shooters.

Police arrested Cornell Beckley, 27, in the shooting, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Deondre Davis, 29, a second suspect in the case, was injured in the shooting and was hospitalized at University of Cincinnati Medical Center, noted the newspaper.
