Who would have thought sharks in a tornado could be so entertaining? Thursday night's premiere of "Sharknado" on SyFy made a splash on Twitter, pulling in thousands tweets per second.
Starring Tara Reid, Ian Ziering, and Cassie Scerbo, "Sharknado" has all the makings of a summer blockbuster.
"The movie fits perfectly into the genre of terrible, low budget disaster flicks which are such train wrecks that they’re hard not to watch
(and the secret to their appeal)," according to the Washington Post.

The concept is simple: "Sharks in a tornado,"
the movie's director Anthony C. Ferrante told the Atlantic Wire. In other words, a massive hurricane hits the West Coast, bringing with it a horde of sharks. A powerful tornado then lifts the animals up out of the water and rains them down on the people of Los Angeles.
Viewers, screenwriters, actors, and comedians alike expounded on the wonder that is "Sharknado" Thursday on Twitter.
