Former Department of Justice election lawyer J. Christian Adams believes efforts by Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner of Wisconsin to have the federal government once again have the power to oversee state election laws in 15 states is misguided.
"Why Jim Sensenbrenner wants to do this and put New York and other places back under federal control is beyond me," he told former Congressman Allen West, guest host of "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"It's about power. Power is what they're after. And they want to have control over state election laws, whether it's voter ID or citizenship verification."
Adams, author of, "Injustice: Exposing the Radical Agenda of the Obama Justice Department," added:
"The Founders gave the states the power to run their own elections because they knew it protected a liberty. The more diffuse, the more scattered power was over elections, the freer we would be."
