Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., the number three Senate leader, says he will support the latest short-term spending bill to keep the government running, but that Congress must negotiate a final package for the remainder of the fiscal year,
Politico reports.
“We have only six months left, we should get it done already,” Schumer Sunday said on NBC's “Meet the Press.” “You can't fund a business two weeks at a time, you can't fund government two weeks at a time.”
The latest continuing resolution meets Senate Democrats' criteria, “which is cut the waste, cut the efficiency, but don't cut the seed corn.”
