Sasha Obama has a summer job working the takeout window at Nancy's Restaurant, a seafood place in Martha's Vineyard.
According to the Boston Herald, the first daughter has spent more than half of her 15 years in the White House, but is now learning the ins and outs of restaurant work, all while using her full name, Natasha. She is working the cash register, preparing the restaurant before lunch, and busing tables, stated the newspaper.
Six Secret Service agents are not far behind the young Obama as she serves customers, with some sitting on takeout benches and others in a sports utility vehicle. The newspaper wrote that the Obamas' reported friendship with Nancy's owner Joe Moujabber led to the summer job.
TMZ reported that Sasha Obama's stay will only last until the rest of the family arrive there for a two-week vacation. Her pay is reportedly from $12 to $15 per hour, including tips.
"She's been around for a few days," one Nancy's worker at the takeout window told the Herald about Sasha Obama. "It's pretty random."
The Boston Globe reported in 2012 that the Obamas are regular customers at the restaurant when they vacation at Martha's Vineyard, usually arriving to eat in the dining room or ordering takeout.
In May, Sasha's big sister Malia, 17, decided she will attend Harvard University in 2017 after taking a so-called "gap year" after her father leaves office, according to The New York Times.
"When you’re a presidential has-been, the rest of your life you're famous, you're a target, you're in a security bubble, but it’s not the same," Gil Troy, a presidential historian at McGill University, told the Times. "The kids can get to at least some level of irrelevance that they absolutely cannot get when they're still in the White House."
In 2014, Malia Obama worked as a production assistant for a day in Los Angeles on the set of the now cancelled science fiction series "Extant," which starred Halle Berry.
"She helped with computer shop alignments and the director also let her slate a take," a source told The Wrap back then.
