An informal applause poll in California got the biggest reaction for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. Christie received one of the loudest — if the not loudest — rounds of applause while Romney came in second,
according to the State Column.

Republican pollster Frank Luntz conducted the poll at the Californian Republican Party’s annual meeting during the weekend.
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich were also part of the poll.
Christie has said repeatedly that he is not seeking the Republican presidential nomination. Still, he continues to have his name floated as a potential candidate.
Romney has led in a number of polls in recent months.
On Monday, Pawlenty announced he was forming an exploratory committee to research a possible run for president.
